Game information
Happyhills Homicide 2 expands the original formula by introducing three playable characters, each with a distinct approach to gameplay. Players step into the roles of John Wade, the infamous masked killer; Bryan Pawalski, the determined detective; and Mr. Carpenter, a vengeful father with a violent agenda. Levels are tailored to each character, with stealth and puzzle-solving emphasized in Wade’s segments, investigative mechanics for Pawalski, and high-intensity combat for Carpenter. The contrast between styles creates variety across the 20 levels, requiring different tactics and decision-making depending on who the player controls.
Set six years after the first game, the plot unfolds through short cutscenes and in-game dialogue, revealing new threats and complex motivations behind the characters’ actions. The 2D pixel art remains faithful to its retro 80s slasher roots, featuring bold colors, dramatic lighting, and detailed gore effects. Locations include small-town backstreets, grimy interiors, and restricted police zones, all rendered with thematic detail. Players uncover clues and backstory by exploring these environments, with environmental storytelling deepening the sense of dread behind the town’s unraveling.
Each level presents a unique setup, whether it’s setting a trap, interrogating suspects, or storming a building. The variety in objectives keeps pacing sharp and unpredictable. The game encourages creative thinking through interactive puzzles and weapon improvisation, with no two eliminations playing out the same way. Dialogue choices, optional paths, and hidden interactions increase replayability and add moral weight to some decisions. Happyhills Homicide 2 blends horror, revenge, and investigation into a dark narrative experience shaped by who you play and how you act.
