Game information
Night Doner places the player inside a small late-night kebab shop where they take on the role of a lone worker during a quiet overnight shift. The game begins with a straightforward task—prepare food orders by interacting with ingredients and kitchen tools. Customers arrive with simple requests, and players must respond quickly by assembling the correct combinations. The controls involve first-person movement and interaction with objects inside the confined space of the shop. Early on, everything functions normally, but the atmosphere gradually shifts as strange elements begin to emerge during the night.
The game uses a dark, low-resolution aesthetic to create a sense of isolation inside the shop. Lighting is limited, and the confined interior is designed to focus the player’s attention on small environmental changes. Subtle details—such as flickering lights, delayed audio cues, and unexplained visual distortions—build tension without relying on jump scares. Background sounds like footsteps, door creaks, or the sudden absence of noise are used to keep players uneasy. The lack of external movement or contact with other characters intensifies the player’s awareness of every detail around them.
As the shift progresses, the player’s routine is interrupted by increasingly abnormal events. Objects move on their own, shadows appear where none should be, and some orders become unsettling in nature. These events lead toward a climactic moment where the player’s perception of the situation is directly challenged. Night Doner includes two possible endings that are influenced by the player’s reactions and interactions during the game. The design encourages observation, patience, and attention to detail, allowing players to experience different interpretations of the same setting depending on their choices.
