Game information
Chillas Art Night Security is a first-person psychological horror game that places players in the role of a night shift guard in a Japanese office building. The player monitors multiple floors, completing basic patrol duties such as checking rooms, controlling lights, and responding to unusual occurrences. Each floor introduces new conditions and sounds that hint at underlying disturbances. Interactions are minimal, focused on observation and small decisions that influence how the experience unfolds. The pacing is deliberately slow, encouraging players to pay attention to subtle visual or auditory changes across each environment.
The game features a VHS-style filter that can be enabled or disabled, giving the visuals a grainy, distorted appearance that fits the psychological theme. Lighting is sparse, with long shadows and flickering effects used to create visual discomfort. Environmental design draws heavily from Japanese horror aesthetics, with narrow hallways, quiet offices, and traditional design elements layered into the setting. The soundtrack avoids constant noise, instead relying on low-frequency hums, distant footsteps, and sudden silence to unsettle the player without direct confrontation.
As the game progresses, the security tasks become disrupted by increasingly strange events, including unexplained figures, environmental anomalies, and altered building behavior. The narrative is fragmented, with much of the story left to be interpreted through context and environmental clues. Depending on how players respond to the unfolding events, they can reach one of two possible endings. The difference in outcomes is determined by player choices and exploration, giving a reason to revisit the game. Night Security uses its minimalist structure and psychological framing to create a focused horror experience grounded in atmosphere and player unease.
